Halakura College was established in the year1991 where the department of Education was introduced in the year 2001 under the initiative of Halakura College Governing Body. Right now, the department has three faculty members viz- Mr. Eakub Ali Ahmed, Mr Sheikh Zahangir Alom, Dr. Azgar Ali Sheikh.

Objectives:

*To provide Educational knowledge keeping in view the global trend in the subject.

*To help in developing analytical and critical outlook through the study of Education.

*To provide proper education based on epistemic, aesthetic and spiritual values for the holistic growth of the students.

*To provide value education on different practical aspects of life like environment, agriculture, medicine etc.

Outcomes: Almost 10/15 students complete their graduate degree each year carrying good quality of marks. Most of them clear their Masters Degree from various universities of India.  Some of them go to other disciplines like B.Ed,  L.L.B, Nursing etc.

Research and publication: Academic activities like taking up of research project, publication of books and papers, organisation of seminars/workshops have been a mark of the department.  The department has projected to publish a research journal very soon.

Placement details: Students passed out from the department of Education have found placement in different fields like college teacher, school teacher, advocates, nurses, defence, politics etc.
