STATUTORY DECLARATION ON INSTITUTIONAL WEBSITE UNDER SEC-4 (1) (B) of RTI Act 2005
The Right to Information Act 2005, was enacted by the Parliament and it has come into force from June 15, 2005. The Act provides for right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities. The law empowers the citizens of the country to seek information regarding the activities of the college. All Universities and Colleges established by law made by Parliament or State Legislature or by notification by the appropriate Government or owned, controlled or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Government come under the purview of a Public Authority under this Act.
Halakura College implements the Right to Information Act, 2005. The Citizens can seek information regarding the activities of Halakura College, Halakura and for this, they need to submit a written request either in English or in Assamese to the appellant authority of the college with necessary details. They need not mention the reasons for seeking the information.
The RTI Application Procedure:
- Name, Address, Contact Number and particulars of the information sought.
- The RTI application may be neatly hand-written or typed.
- The RTI application must have this heading on top “ Application under RTI Act 2005”.
- The questions should be clear and not vague and should be put point-wise.
- The use of too many technical terms and legal terminology should be avoided.
- Attach Government RTI Fee receipt or IPO/DD etc. whichever is applicable along with the application.
- At the end of the application, a declaration should be made that the applicant is an Indian citizen.
- Duly signed written request may be sent to the Public Information Officer, Halakura College, Halakura, P.O. Mahamayahat, Dist. Dhubri (Assam), PIN-783335.
